WHAT IF ... The Bible Really WAS The Word of God?

Let me let you in on my dirty little secret- even as a Christian, there have been many times early in my faith that I wanted to NOT believe the bible was true. If it isn't true, then maybe I could par-take (guilt free) in some of my favorite sins? You know the 'ole, "eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow we die"
(Temptations always sound a lot better than the reality of the experiences and their unquestionable consequences don't they?)

Because of this I was driven to look at the bible and its claims upside down, inside out and from every imaginable angle.  For me that begins with READING IT.  I have also read the naysayers and listened intently at other points of views..and examined several other faiths.
I examined the scriptures from a skeptical point of view...but also with the point of view of wanting the truth, not self-deception. I am sure that I am not the only one that has done this.  No thinking person wants to live a lie, or be completely hood-winked by something that others have figured out isn't true. I want intellectual honesty within my own person.
One thing is for sure, either the bible is the very unique Word of the Living God, or it is not.  It's that simple.
The short and obvious answer to my truth seeking is that I have found the bible completely, totally, convincingly, profoundly and absolutely true.  Yes, I have looked at all of the so-called "contradictions". People love to find one or two difficulties and say..."AHA! See, its all made up!"  But no, most of them,  in context end up CONFIRMING the scriptures if one is just honest with the evidence.  None of them when examined in their totality and context give me the evidence to say..."okay, there are just too many contradictions therefore...I won't believe it." None.  Ultimately, what goes along with finding the bible amazingly accurate is the equally amazing, but very personal spiritual experiences that have accompanied my seeking Him, which was another confirmation for me...not the only one, not even the FIRST one (experiences can be deceptive sometimes in and of themselves so without an outside source like the bible an experience proves nothing, everyone religion can give testimonies about "experiences"), but another confirmation.
Sadly, the scripture tells us clearly why most DON'T BELIEVE, and I have also found it true from practical experience also despite profound evidence to the contrary; "And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil." John 3:19  -W.E.
