Sunday Reflections: The Unseen Might of the U.S. Military (Video)

"These are the days of Elijah Declaring the word of the Lord, yeah And these are the days of Your servant, Moses Righteousness being restored

These are the days of great trials Of famine and darkness and sword
Still we are the voice in the desert crying 'Prepare ye the way of the Lord'!

Behold, He comes riding on the clouds
Shining like the sun at the trumpet call
Lift your voice, it’s the year of Jubilee
And out of Zion’s hill salvation comes

And these are the days of Ezekiel, the dry bones becoming flesh
And these are the days of Your servant David, rebuilding a temple of praise
And these are the days of the harvest, the fields are as white in Your world
And we are the laborers in Your vineyard declaring the Word of the Lord"

Proclaimed loud in clear through a song of worship and dance by Marines is a video that has gone viral: "There's no God like Jehovah!"
The unseen forces of darkness cannot stop an army bold for the Lord and filled with the Holy Spirit.
Lest we think the U.S. military throughout its history has been so dominant in and of itself, the scripture declares, "apart from Me, you can do nothing".  There is a reason, and it has everything to do with God's agenda to save the souls of mankind and America being a lighthouse and a platform for the gospel of Jesus Christ around the world, that America has prospered for so long and been protected from her enemies.
Today the U.S. military is under assault, just as the gospel of Jesus Christ is also under assault...not from foreign enemies, but seemingly "domestic" enemies.

As I mentioned in a post Friday

  • The Commander-in-Chief has sent our military into war zones in Afghanistan, unarmed

  • There is open hostility to Christians in the military from government personnel.

The Commander-in-Chief is gutting the military not just with spending, but with personnel 'purges" as well:

And that is really just the tip of the iceberg, as these are other equally troubling stories supporting the premise that America's military is under attack domestically
We of course know, and do well to remember from scripture that the battle that rages is first and foremost a spiritual one:

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." - Ephesians 6:12

Because of the platform God has given America for over two centuries to share the gospel and send out countless missionaries world wide, we shouldn't be surprised that there is an all out attack on the military of the U.S. and in particular Christians in the military. It is a fierce attack from the very pit of hell aimed at destroying the protectors of a free land.

How perhaps, would the enemy of our souls, the devil himself, strategize to defeat an army that is in part bold for the Lord? Let me suggest two ways that are clearly occurring today.
First, force the believers out of the military. You can do this several ways including ridiculing them and open persecution, both are happening at least to some degree today. (see above links)
Second, cut off the head of the proverbial "snake" by ensuring the Commander-in-Chief of the military is not a Christian and is likely to NOT support the military as a whole, and Christians in particular.
In the case of the U.S. military the top of the ladder is of course the Commander-in-Chief, Barack Obama. (Check, but it is not yet checkmate)

True, this is a very small sample size of the military and I am not saying it is at all necessarily representative of the military as a whole.
What I am saying however is to remember Gideon's shrinking army  while watching the video below and I believe you will see what exactly frightens the Prince of this world and why he so badly wants to destroy the military the protector of the freedoms of the people of America, including the freedom to share the "good news."
