Police at Brussels Zaventem airport have claimed that at least 50 ISIS supporters are working there as baggage handlers, cleaners and catering staff, reports the Daily Mail.
In an open letter, police say they have warned of the terrorist supporters at the airport, but they remain employed.
From the Daily Mail:
The airport police, who are threatening to go on strike because of security deficiencies, also said they have raised the issue of terrorists scouting the airport to plan possible attacks. The extraordinary claims come after the Mail reported how the family of two of the bombers involved in the attacks last week said they had worked as cleaners at the airport.‘Some people suspected of having fought in Syria came to the airport as “false tourists”. We reported their presence but we do not know if anything was done with that information,’ the airport police wrote in their letter. The officers said they had raised suspicions about certain staff members including those who apparently celebrated after the Paris attacks in November that killed 130 people.
These radical group sympathizers “have a security badge and can get into the cockpit of an airplane,” police claimed in their letter.
“In the past, [the authorities] revoked the badge of a number of people because they sympathized with ISIS. But clearly not everyone. Especially in the shops, cleaning services and luggage services,” airport police said.
Just last week we reported that a well-known Gazan Salafist jihadist allied with the Islamic State told Breitbart News’ Aaron Klein in a pre-recorded interview that ISIS had agents working in Western airports.
Abu al-Ayna al-Ansari told Klein that the terror group has agents in Western airports, metro stations and “very sensitive facilities in the world.”
On March 22, Belgium was rocked by multiple suicide blasts that ISIS later claimed responsibility for. The explosions took place at Brussels’ Zaventem Airport and at Maelbeek Metro station, killing 35 and injuring some 270.
